Symbolized since 1867 by the winged hourglass logo still present on each Longines watch, Longines enjoys a rich heritage rivaled by few watch manufacturers. The first Longines watch in 1867 was also the first watch to be wound and set with a crown. Longines was the first watchmaker to produce a mechanical wristwatch in 1905. It was Longines which timed Charles Lindbergh's 1927 non-stop transatlantic flight from New York to Paris. Famed aviator Emelia Earhart was also equipped with a Longines watch during her pioneering flights. Longines has provided the timing for nearly every Olympic Games since 1952. Today, Longines focus is to produce classically styled timepieces which combine the best modern Swiss watch making technology with designs that recalls the elegance and style of earlier times. The Longines LungoMare watch collection of bold-looking men's and ladies' watches in a more contemporary design. Each Longines LungoMare watch contains a Swiss Quartz movement. Men's LungoMare models are available with chronograph, or three hand movements.
