Theoretically, the story of the Chronograph could be considered concluded, but just theoretically. Since it is a known fact that there are people with the unshakeable belief that that which should be done, also could be done. One of these people is Gerd-Rüdiger Lang, who bears his nickname ?Mr. Chronograph? for good reason. The owner of the Munich-based watch manufacturer Chronoswiss occupies himself regularly with Chronographs, their great past, their present and with whatever is possible in the future in this area of the art of horology.
Proof for this claim is the exclusive Chronoscope with ball-bearing switch-wheel. Further evidence is Lang's newest chronographic creation called Timemaster. This Chronograph simultaneously embodies multi-functionality, tradition and innovation in addition to what can simply be called ?great looks?. The interior, which is naturally mechanical, is a skillfully developed version of the automatic Caliber ETA. 7750. Chronoswiss has finally supplied this classic, which celebrates its 30 th anniversary in 2003, with a practical fly-back mechanism. Further more, the 30-minute counter was turned at a 90 degree angle and moved to the ?3? position with the help of an additional gear train. No less than 29 jewels ensure perfect function of the whole. Of course, the case back with exhibition glass allows undisturbed insight into the detailed masterfully crafted microcosms composed of 27 parts.
In contrast, the visual qualities of the Timemaster Flyback are immediately eye-catching. The case, dial, hands and strap illustrate the passion for detail, which has distinguished Chronoswiss for twenty years. There is no doubt that the dimensions and proportions between the dial and hands fit accurately to a millimeter. Additionally, the fact that the fly-back pusher has a red marking indicates absolute precision and the purposeful exploration of matter. This way, the danger of mal-operation is reduced significantly.
Because black dials with palpable luminous equipment are not to everyone's liking, Chronoswiss offers a bright Super LumiNova C3-Version with a dark print.
Finally, Gerd-R. Lang also considered an often-neglected group of customers while creating the Timemaster Chronograph: Left-handed people and other contemporaries that like to wear their watch on the right wrist. They all have the option to receive a right-left reversed variant where the crown and pushers are located on the left side of the case. In other words; ergonomics will no longer be an issue in the future. As far as we know, the Timemaster Flyback is the first Chronograph in series with a fly-back function and optional crown on the right or left side.
